Coaching Staff

Maya Zafrani

Head Coach

Maya Zafrani has served as Head Coach of the University of Oregon Duck Dancers since 2024. A proud alumna of both the University of Oregon and the Duck Dancers, Maya previously danced on the team and served as a captain before returning to lead the program.

As Head Coach, Maya oversees the competitive direction, recruitment, choreography, training, and overall development of the Duck Dancers. She works closely with the team throughout the season to prepare for the national stage while continuing to push the program forward both competitively and within the University of Oregon community.

Since stepping into the role, Maya has focused on expanding the program, elevating its competitive presence, and creating new opportunities for current and future Duck Dancers. Her coaching philosophy centers on developing strong, versatile performers while building a team culture rooted in hard work, accountability, confidence, and connection.

Having experienced the program as both a student-athlete and coach, Maya is passionate about continuing to raise the standard of the Oregon Duck Dancers while creating a collegiate experience that dancers are proud to be part of long after their time at Oregon.

Assistant Coach

Hayley DuLong

Hayley DuLong has served as Assistant Coach of the University of Oregon Duck Dancers since 2024. A proud alumna of both the University of Oregon and the Duck Dancers, Hayley brings her experience as a former team member and collegiate dancer back to the program as a coach.

As Assistant Coach, Hayley plays an integral role in the team’s competitive development, pom training, and game day program. She works closely with the dancers throughout competition season, contributing to training, choreography, cleaning, and preparation for the national stage.

Hayley also brings extensive game day experience from her 10 years dancing for the Portland Winterhawks as a member of the Rosebuds. Her background in professional sports entertainment has helped elevate the Duck Dancers’ pom technique, performance quality, and game day presence. Since joining the coaching staff, she has been instrumental in expanding the program’s opportunities-including bringing the Oregon Duck Dancers to the ice and establishing the team’s presence at Oregon Hockey games.

Having experienced the program as both a student-athlete and coach, Hayley is passionate about pushing dancers to reach their highest potential while continuing to elevate the Duck Dancers as both a nationally competitive program and a dynamic presence.
